Water flows over Iguazu falls at an astonishing rate of 1,746 metres cubed ever single second, with a record flow of 12,800 metres cubed. Located on the border of the Brazilian State of Paraná and the Argentine Province of Misiones, Iguazu Falls is made up of hundreds of islands along the 1.7 mile long edge dividing the falls into 275 separate waterfalls and cataracts, varying between 60 metres and 82 metres high. About half of the river’s flow falls into a long and narrow chasm called the Devil’s Throat which is an impressive 82 metres high, 150 metres wide, and 700 metres long.
