Simon Raven
Best known for his candid overland travel writing and off the beaten track colour photography, Simon Raven has searched and documented new travel destinations across the globe. Born in England, Simon graduated from the London Institute in 1996. After working as an online news editor and journalist, he left to freelance as a travel writer and photographer. His career was launched, when he drove from the UK to Vladivostok in 2003, becoming one of the first Europeans to traverse the Amur Highway by car across Russia and Siberia. His published work ‘Driving the Trans-Siberian‘ co-written with his brother, Chris Raven, launched a career in travel writing and photography. Simon has covered many international destinations over the past decade, including the Balkan Peninsula, new routes across South America, and China’s Deep South. Simon’s mission is to report on the unique people and places that colour our world. Simon has published three books including; Leaving London, Driving the Trans-Siberian and In Seach of the Real Carnival.
